A Challenge with a Twist

I'm a little slow getting my card posted today - I've had a little
bought of food poisoning - but I'm doing better now and managed
to spend some time in my craft room taking on another challenge.

Here's my card for today

I made this one for a sketch challenge with a twist at Pals Paper Art.
The twist was to use this sketch with monochromatic colors (one color
along with neutrals of your choice).
I decided to go with Calypso Coral, white and a little bit of cream. It's
not a combo I would normally use - crumb cake is the color I usually
gravitate to.

I started by embossing the flower from the Blooming with Kindness stamp set,
sponged over top of it with calypso coral ink and then realized that I was all
out of calypso coral card stock. I remembered that the Sweet Sorbet DSP
had a sheet that was calypso coral so I grabbed that.

The card wasn't working for me, so I decided to add some texture. First came
the lace doily, then the honeycomb embossing folder. I felt it was still missing
something so I grabbed for the En Francais stamp  (I love that stamp) - I embossed
that with white embossing powder.

Of course, I sponged all the edges - it's
hard for me to make a card without sponging.

This card went from something I was not liking at all to one
I'm pretty happy with. I love it when that happens!

supplies:
card stock: whisper white
dsp: sweet sorbet
stamp sets: blooming with kindness, en francais, loving thoughts
ink: calypso coral
big shot: honeycomb EF
embellishments: white linen thread, lacy doily,
     very vintage designer buttons
Happy Stampin'
and thanks for visiting!
