The challenge this week over CAS-ual Fridays is to
CFC130: Create a Clean And Simple project using...OVALS!
I knew right away that I wanted to use these cups because of the
oval rims and saucers. I also knew I was going to be using
my oval dies.
I had originally planned to try dry embossing with my oval dies
but there wasn't as much detail to is as I had hoped. I was thinking
that I needed to add some color or something - it was too plain.
I stamped the stir stick in Strawberry Slush and laid it on its side.
Better, but it was still missing something. I thought about adding some
dsp as a mat behind the first layer...
This was one of those cards that wasn't shaping up how I had
planned and I was thinking of trashing it. That's when
I decided to use the oval dies to frame the cups with dsp. If you look
closely at the design on the paper you will see little ovals - yay! That was a
happy coincidence but when I addedthe colorful oval frame it went from a card that I wanted to trash to a card I like.
The frame added that little bit of punch that was missing.
