Graffiti Grunge

I don't know exactly what this style is called.
Graffiti? Grunge? I've decided to call it Graffiti Grunge.
I've been wanting to do a project like this for a while now
but have always found a reason not to because it's way out of my
comfort zone.
When I started this blog 2 1/2 months ago,
I told myself that I would always try new things and share them, so
even though I think I have a lot to learn about this style, here
is my inspiration journal. I'm going to keep it in my bag with me and
use it to sketch and write down ideas when I get them.

I picked up some composition notebooks from the dollar store
thinking that they would make great journals. I'm planning on
doing this project with a group of girls from the school I work at.
I think they'll love it.

this is what it looked like before I started.

First, I covered the notebook with crumb cake card stock.
I had an old calendar that had all kinds of words on it that I
knew I wanted to have on the cover. I picked out a few stamp sets
that I thought would work and a few pieces of paper from the
Soho Subway dsp pack.

I had no idea what I was doing when I put it together. I was
thinking it would be kind of cool to add some paint to it too.
I might go back and do that still - maybe on the back...
that's a project for another day.
