The Journey

Sometimes the journey is as much fun or even more fun than the destination.
What we learn about ourselves along the way can make the experience
even more rewarding.
Three years ago I started a journey to a new career. I went back to school
part time to get my certificate to be a Teaching Assistant. I was extremely nervous but
with the support of my DH and family, I am  thrilled to say that I will be
done in about 2 months!! While this journey has had it's struggles,
it has had so many more rewards.

Another journey I have embarked on is to become healthier.
I lost my father 2 years ago February, and I almost lost
my mother a year ago. Along with some of my own health
issues, this has sparked my journey to take better
care of myself.
And most recently, I started this blog. This has been something that I have
wanted to do for some time now. This is my creative journey and I am thrilled that you are experiencing it with me.

Today's card was made with a couple things in mind. I've
recently challenged myself to make more masculine cards -
although, looking at this card now, I think it would be a good card for anyone.
Also, I recently saw a video over at StampNation
showing how to use negative space - this card does that.
This morning I saw a post on My Favorite Things
for a sketch challenge that I thought fit this card
and decided to enter it there too.

Here is my card

If you haven't used sketches for inspiration, you should give them a try.
They are a wonderful way to get the creative juices flowing.
