Masculine Monday #8

When I was trying to come up with a card for Masculine Monday this week,
I was thinking about a documentary we watched at school this week called
'Screenagers'. It's all about screen time and the negative effects it can have
on teenagers. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Video games seem to be a popular way for teenagers to fill their free time
so the Video Boy image from Mo's Digital was a perfect choice for this
week's card.

I used a combination of two sketches to motivate me. I couldn't decide on
just one so since they were similar I combined them.
and

Funny story: while I was making this card I thought I would turn it into
a shaker card but I forgot to put any beads in before I sealed it shut.
Oops.
I didn't want to scrap the card so I added the sentiment and called it done.

I highly recommend using sketch challenges when you're feeling
the need for inspiration - they're a great way to get your mojo going.

update:
I'm also adding this to the '3' challenge at the W&W Blog
I used 3 stripes and 3 different colors of cardstock (does white count as
a color?)

Hi Susan, this is sooooo coooollll! Looks fantastic your layout and the idea is great, it really gives the impression as he is sitting behind the screen...

Fantastic card and as a mother of two boys now young men this certainly resonates. Glad you missed out the beads so we can see more of this fab image.

Tha nk you Claudia :)WOW! I mentioned to my husband that the unfilled shaker frame could be a tv - like he was sitting in front of the screen - he thought I was nuts and no one would see that so I didn't bother to mention it. I'm glad someone thought of it too.

With two gaming mad teenage boys in my house this card is just perfection, Susan! A great image which you have coloured brilliantly. I love the way you have adapted the sketch too. Thanks for playing along with us at Less is More this week :)
Fab take on the sketch! That super-cool image you've coloured beautifully looks wonderful behind the frame. It reminds me of my grandson who is games mad at the moment. Its a sure fire winner for all teenage (and younger) boys. Thanks so much for joining us at Less is More xx
