Time for Tea! and Thank you!

As I sit here typing this - for the second time today!!!! - I am sipping on
a big cuppa tea. I don't know what button I pressed but I lost everything.
I decided to take a break from typing and began looking at some
challenges that I've entered recently. I must admit that I'm not very
good about going back to check - sometimes I remember and sometimes
I don't remember for a while. But today I saw that this card was chosen
as one of the top 3 over at Create with Connie and Mary - Thank you
so much and congratulations to the other ladies whose cards were chosen!

You all know how much I LOVE the inlaid die-cutting technique - well this
time I tried to step it up a notch. I used two different mug dies from the
All You Need is Coffee stamp and die set from My Creative Time and
kept overlapping them so they looked like a stack of tea cups. I love
how it turned out. I chose the English Garden DSP from Stampin' Up!
because it reminds me of the cups my Grannie had. The greeting is a
free digital one that I've had forever - I don't remember where it's from.

If you have not tried this technique yet, you really should! There's
so many possibilities for different looks to create.

I am entering this card into the following challenge:
Craft Your Passion - anything goes

Snow Friends

I had some fun yesterday afternoon playing with this
adorable stamp set called Snow Place. You can get this as a
bundle with coordinating dies called Snow Friends - it has all
kinds of pieces that are so much fun!
I paired it with the Softly Falling snow embossing
folder and tore some strips of paper for the snow on the ground.

I'm playing along with the following challenges;
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Penny's Challenges - anything goes
Simply Create Too - early Christmas wishes

Happy Blooming Birthday

This card doesn't look like much but it does combine 4
different challenges - a color challenge, a sketch challenge,
and two theme challenges. I love it when I can combine
a lot of challenges and still keep the card CAS.

The Card Concept has a theme of daisies and while I don't
have any daisies I do have flowers that are similar so I went with
those. I stamped the main image in so saffron and then sponged the
edges with delightful dijon.  Freshly Made Sketches has a perfectly
clean and simple sketch that was perfect for this card. The
colors at Create with Connie and Mary were perfect for the daisies
and well, I can never have enough birthday cards so I added
this to the challenge at Seize the Birthday.

Make sure you head over to these blogs and check out
all the cards.

A Gold CASE

Check out this absolutely gorgeous card by Maureen Merritt
from Mama Mo Stamps. It's beautiful! I had to CASE it.

I used a new stamp set from Stampin' Ups! holiday catalogue
called Joyful Season. It's a beautiful two-step stamp set but for
this card I chose just to use the outline of the bird. I wanted
to keep this a one-layer card so to add a bit of detail I scored
some lines around the edges. I like how it finishes it off.

Normally for the inside I just stamp the greeting and don't
do much else but for this one I decided to emboss it in gold so
that it matched the front. This is such a quick and easy card to
make - I think I'll pull out some other line stamps and make a
set of gold embossed cards.

Make sure you head on over to Maureen's blog and check out
her card in detail.

***the supplies used to make this card can be found at my online store. Click

don't hesitate to ask - and thank you!***

A Play Date

I remember when my kids were little and they would
have play dates and they always seemed to enjoy themselves.
Well I scheduled my own play date today
with my stamping supplies and boy oh boy was it fun!

I decided to pull out a couple of kits from Stampin' Up! that I've had
for quite some time. I was all excited when I received them but
for some reason I was never motivated to actually play with them.
Well, today I decided to play with them...my way.
By that I mean, I took the supplies in the kit and used some
stamps, dies and stencils from
with the cards below.

I used the retired Everyday Occasions kit (I did say I've had
these kits for a long time) and the current
Watercolor Wishes kit pictured below. There's a lot of cool
stuff in this kit and the stamp set is great!

I definitely need to schedule some more 'play dates' in my
craft room - that was a lot of fun!

from Stampin' Up! unless noted

dsp: Back to Black (retired)
kits: Everyday Occasions (retired) Watercolor Wishes

     washi tape
