Toes in the Sand

My card for you today was made with a Cards in Envy challenge in mind.

It's a 'Toes in the Sand (Beach Theme)' card challenge.

I made the flip flops by using a metal embossing plate from Lasting Impressions.

I used my versamark pen to fill in the open spaces and then heat embossed it
with pool party embossing powder. The flowers are punched out from a scrap of
leftover watercolor and the beach is made form a piece of cardboard box.
I hand wrote the 'Life is Good' and tucked it under the button.

I am also submitting this to the Simon Says summer challenge
and Stamping with the Dragon for their sun, sea and sand them challenge.

supplies:
all from stampin' up unless noted
card stock: whisper white, crumb cake
dsp: retired stampin up - name ?
ink: pool paerty, soft sky, basic black
big shot: honeycomb EF, cloudy day EF, on film framelits dies
punch: flower from the itty bitty shapes punch pack (retired)
basic pearls, linen thread, button (retired)
flip flop sandals embossing template (lasting impressions)

Happy Stampin'
and thanks so much for visiting!

What a great idea!! I have some of these old brass stencils and I never thought to emboss them via the embossing pen. Thanks! Appreciate you entering a card in Toes in the Sand Challenge - Gorgeous card. So summery and perfect for the challenge. We are hoping you will come back for our next challenge!

Now that's a clever use of brass stencils, and I may have to take a 2nd look at mine (after I find where I buried them) LOL Seriously, this is such a cute card, with the crimped paper "sand" and fun clouds! NJ!

I'm not sure why this was emailed to me today (10/26/14), but I'm glad it was. I got so many ideas from this one card (use of brass stencil and new way to use my cloud EF for starters), so I am looking forward even more to seeing your current projects!
